The mountains are calling. calling you
We pinch ourselves. We are lucky. We are grateful. We live in the the most beautiful part of the world. For us the village and area we live in is a real gem. What a place to raise children. There is so much to discover all year round. We want to share our experiences with you.
When you visit a place for the first time there is often a plethora of information in this day and age and is difficult to pick out the right activities for your family. There are usually many questions like is this path suitable for a buggy? Will my four year old manage the tour? What do we need to bring along? Is it touristy or off the beaten track.
No worries, we can certainly help out with the all information you need. Our sons Felix and Flynn have plenty of hot tips too.
Hiking champion
We think its great to get outside and foster and early awareness for our surrounds. For all boys and girls that conquer the mountains we have a little suprise in store. If you collect enough stamps, which you can find on the hiking routes, you receive our Tirolerhof hiking medal at the end of your stay. Dont worry there are plenty to collect that don’t involve pro hiking skills.
It’s summer time - summer holidays in the mountains
There is so much to discover in our region, the Tiroler Zugspitzarena is one of the most diverse in Austria and a perfect family base in the alps - for the summer or winter.
Staying for a weeks holiday offers an abundance of choice. To save you scrolling and reading through countless apps and pamphlets we have chosen a few highlights and are always around for more personal tips once you are here.
Mountains as far as the eye can see - activities in the Zugspitzarena
Hiking
There is a huge variety and one can easily be overwhelmed so please do ask us about our top three family hikes.
Biken - Moutainbike paradise
Luke who is an avid biker himself and is happy to show you the best routes in our region, he has literally done them all and knows where to get the best beer afterwards.
The regional MTB-Highlight for experienced riders is our Blindsee Trail, starting at the Grubigstein down to Blindsee, one of the „4 Great Trails“ in Tyrol. It is a well flowing trail with some key passages and some gravel trails, a great view and at the end of the trail you can cool off jumping into the turquoise blue water of the Blindsee.
Swimming in a mountain lake
We have amazing mountain lakes and we can guarantee you there is no better feeling than jumping into a one of our crystal clear lakes. Yes sometimes its a blast to the system and invigorating but mostly its very refreshing on a warm summer day after a hike or bike ride. There is no other area that has as many lakes as the Tiroler Zugspitzarena
At the end of the day its what you make out of it it....we are here to help you choose what works for you, so don't forget to take advantage of real people and ask us instead of getting bogged down in some App.
